Who knew watercolor could be so accessible? I’m just surprised with all the pretty stuff I’ve been able to make from just a couple of classes! You’re great at teaching it! I love the easy direction and being able to see my work progress. I’ve tried Youtube videos and they just don’t cut it compared to Creative Catharsis classes!

How The Membership Works

Easy, Affordable Supplies

Because we will be exploring cathartic play,  you will not need high end supplies (unless you want them!) but I have included my recommendations in the Amazon supply list. The basic supplies you will need for most classes are:

  1. watercolor paper (140lb or heavier) - I recommend cold press / rough paper

  2. watercolor paint - choose either dry pan or tube paint - you do not need both and they are very similar in final application/appearance

  3. a mixing palette / non-porous surface - you only NEED this if you are using tube paint. Dry palettes come with a small mixing space

  4. a medium sized round brush - either a no.6, no.8 or no.10

  5. a medium size flat brush - between 3/4in to 1 1/4 inch

  6. masking tape

  7. masking fluid

ALL other items on the list are optional and may be used occasionally during different lessons. You may source these supplies from other sites/stores and brands as well. Do what works best for your interest level and your budget!

Creative Catharsis has opened up a whole new world to me. It has been an inviting, friendly, patient introduction to watercolor for me. It has lit my creative spark!

I have always wanted to take an art class but never pursued it. Creative Catharsis provided the perfect beginning point for me and a wonderful outlet during the pandemic.

A Little About Me

Hello! I'm Beth Glover, a North-Carolina-based professional artist and surface designer specializing in abstract expressionism and impressionism, using watercolor and mixed-media. I’m also an art teacher, an entrepreneur, and a people-lover.  I am passionate about the transformative and healing power of art, so when the Covid-19 pandemic hit in Spring of 2020, I quickly put my passion into practice virtually by launching Creative Catharsis, which began as a series of live online watercolor classes, designed to provide a weekly space for creativity, community and connection. And I’m proud that it now exists a monthly membership!

I have loved sharing my passion for art with those across the city, state and the country, and witnessing how the process of art making can help us all process the ups and downs of life. By showing up and giving ourselves a set time and space to create and play without cumbersome expectations, we can find our joy, hope and peace again. If that sounds like something you’re craving, please join me and others in the Creative Catharsis membership!
